Meet Aishwarya Sridhar, she is an wildlife photographer & storyteller. She’s the youngest and first girl to receive the Sanctuary Asia ‘’Young Naturalist Award’’ in 2011. She has gone on to win several accolades including International Camera Fair Award and Rotary Vocational Excellence Award. In 2019, she was given the Woman Icon Award in media category by the Hon. Governor of Tamil Nadu for her extensive contributions in preserving the vanishing wetlands of Navi Mumbai. She is also the youngest member of the State Wetland Identification Committee appointed by the Bombay High Court.

She was also conferred the prestigious Diana Award in 2019- given to extraordinary young changemakers aged 9-25 by the Princess Diana Foundation. Her passion for wildlife is remarkable.

An explorer, writer, poet, storyteller and presenter, Aishwarya dons many hats for someone who is just 23. An intuitive photographer rather than a technical one, she lives and breathes India and its wild untamed places teaming with big cats, racing blackbucks and thundering waterfalls. She has penned more than 200 poems on Nature and her images, poems and articles have been published in several print and online editions of magazines and newspapers of repute including BBC Wildlife, Guardian, Mongabay, Sanctuary Asia, Saevus, Times of India, DNA, Hindustan Times, The Vibe and Pawstrail.

As a photographer and artist, Aishwarya believes that visual communication has the power to change the world. To be able to tell a complete story in one frame- a story celebrating the beauty of wildlife and at the same time making you think. Her work has taken her to several parts of India. Her debut documentary ‘’Panje-The Last Wetland’’ was telecast on DD National and has toured various film festivals. She has also made a feature on the most iconic and photographed wild Bengal Tigress Maya titled ‘’The Queen of Taru’’ which won the Best Amateur Film at the 9th WCFF, New York this year.
