My name is Sunny Kanaujia, and I am currently a radio jockey. I hail from Akbarpur, Ambedkar Nagar, and was raised in Kanpur. Whatever position I hold today is thanks to the unwavering support of my parents and teachers. However, this journey has been anything but easy.
My father, neither a businessman nor someone with a well-paying job, ran a small clothing pressing business that sustained our family. Despite limited resources, he made every effort to provide me with the best education possible, enrolling me in both private and government schools since childhood.
Losing my mother at the tender age of 12 was a devastating blow. It left me emotionally shaken and thrust upon me the responsibility of caring for my younger brother and sister. But even in the face of such hardships, I was determined to fulfill my parents’ dreams. From a young age, I aspired to do something unique, something that would set me apart. My passion for acting began early, and in 7th grade, I auditioned for the first time. Yet, due to family responsibilities, I could not fully pursue my interests then.
In 2018, I got my first break in theater and performed in several plays. However, the COVID-19 pandemic became a turning point in my life. Like many others, I discovered new facets of my talent during this period. I ventured into voice-over work and quickly realized it could be more than just a hobby—it could be a profession. I started taking up freelance assignments and honing my skills.
In 2022, I applied for an internship at Radio Mirchi, which turned out to be a life-changing opportunity. By 2024, I had earned the chance to work as a radio jockey at Radio Orange. This was a dream come true and a step towards carving out a unique identity for myself.
The journey in radio has been incredible so far, filled with learning and growth, and it’s only the beginning. With your love and blessings, I aim to keep moving forward and achieve even greater milestones. This is my story—one of resilience, determination, and gratitude. Thank you for being a part of it.
